omakase experience
Omakase is not just another culinary word used to describe a cooking method, but rather a term which encapsulates an entire dining experience. In Japanese, omakase roughly translates to a meal created by entrusting the chef, but at Sushimotos it is much more than a mere chef’s tasting menu. Sushimotos’ Omakase Experience is a customized, epicurean adventure. Not only do you get a proverbial front seat to the entire creative, gastronomical process but you get to reap the rewards: a meal of the most fresh and seasonal ingredients selected just hours before they are skillfully and exquisitally prepared by us to be savored by especially by you.

Cultivating Your Omakase Experience

The Sushimotos Omakase Experience ranges from seven to thirteen courses of both raw, sushi-style fish and cooked delicacies such as steamed local black cod with shimeji mushrooms and uni foam. This type of meal is ideal for the adventurous diner with an open mind and palette. If you want to experience unique, creative and seasonal dishes, our Omakase Experience is for you. The process of cultivating your unique experience is generally as follows:

Getting to Know You

Chef Ed will be in touch to understand your general likes, dislikes, timing and where the meal will be served.

Planning the Menu & Gathering Ingredients

Chef Ed uses years of experience and expertise to craft a menu based on local, seasonal ingredients. He visits fish markets, farmers’ markets and other local suppliers to gather everything needed for your Omakase. Your menu will be finalized as close to your dining date as possible to allow for the freshest ingredients.

Preparing & Enjoying the Meal

Depending on your dining location and preferences, Chef Ed will either prepare the meal while you look on, or will prepare and serve each course to you, guiding and advising you along the culinary adventure. Omakase experiences can feature wine or sake pairings if desired.
